Greetings from the other side of Halloween.

It’s a bummer right? How could Thanksgiving and Christmas ever possibly compare?

Well… the food’s good. Gifts are always nice.

Even better, Bee Dolores found a way to bridge the holidays with this—a massive and DARING—list of the 500 Greatest Horror Movies of All Time.

It’s essential reading for any horror fan looking to keep the Halloween vibes alive post 10/31…

And it makes one hell of a Christmas gift identification tool.

Kind of like the toy section in the old JC Penney catalog (Yes, I just aged myself.)

It also includes excellent holiday horror selections for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

So, enjoy…and let us know what you think!

And great work Bee!

Bee Delores’s Top 500 Horror Movies of All Time

I took on the mammoth task of compiling the 500 Best Horror Movies of All Time. During the summer, The New York Times posted its list of 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century – and caused quite a kerfuffle. Countless critics, writers, and general film fans, myself included, shared their own truncated lists on social media. Some of us at Daily Grindhouse took our own crack at it.

It got me thinking about what I would choose for a Best of All Time list. It wasn’t easy, but I believe I have a good cross-section of the best in horror, spanning styles, directors, tones, and themes.

Over 100 years of horror movies, dating back to 1896’s THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, made me fall in love with the genre all over again. My selections zip through horror’s early days (1919’s EERIE TALES made the list!) and the classic defining era (the 1930s) to many ‘80s slashers and the treasure trove of the last several years. Nary a stone is unturned – from James Whale essentials and John Carpenter cuts to little-known modern gems worth screaming about.

In no particular order, here are my picks for the 500 Best Horror Movies of All Time below.
